  • The League of Noble Peers - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_League_of_Noble_Peers
The League of Noble Peers is an organization credited with producing the Steal This Film documentary series. When releasing Steal This Film (One) the group introduced itself as "a group of friends" that, in 2006, "decided to make a film about filesharing that we would recognise." The Steal This Film series documents the movement against intellectual property and was released via the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol.

24 Legal Novels by John Grisham

24 legal fiction novels (in .pdf) from the attorney John Grisham: :https://yadi.sk/d/wXBBKz27rktzh

John Grisham is an extremely popular best selling American author who writes about lawyers and law. Several of his books have become films with such Hollywood superstars such as Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts. They are very well written and extremely entertaining good books. I would recommend the book the "Firm" first.

Copyright

  • Copyrigh Term Extension Act, also known as the Sonny Bono Act [Cher's dead husband], or (derisively) the Mickey Mouse Protection Act, effectively "froze" the advancement date of the public domain in the United States for works covered by the older fixed term copyright rules.
The 1998 Act extended these terms to life of the author plus 70 years and for works of corporate authorship to 120 years after creation or 95 years after publication, whichever end is earlier. Copyright protection for works published before January 1, 1978, was increased by 20 years to a total of 95 years from their publication date.
Under this Act, works made in 1923 or afterwards that were still protected by copyright in 1998 would not enter the public domain until January 1, 2019 or later. Mickey Mouse specifically, having first appeared in 1928, will be in a public domain work in 2024 or afterward (depending on the date of the product).

In 2016 the U.S. Commerce Department released a comprehensive report entitled, “Intellectual Property and the U.S. Economy: 2016 Update,” which found that Intellectual Property intensive industries support at least 45 million U.S. jobs and contribute to more than $6 trillion dollars to, or 38.2 percent of U.S. gross domestic product (GDP).
